IMPLEMENTATION OF COMMON MINIMUM PROGRAMME
Common Minimum Programme (CMP) which aims for the qualitative improvement of Primary Education is being implemented with utmost care and enthusiasm in our Vidyalaya under the able guidance of the Principal Mr.N.SURESH BABU, Vice Principal Mr.K.P.THANKAPPAN and HM Mr.SREENATH.K.P. As per the KVS guidelines, for the all-round development and for developing requisite competencies among the primary students the following programmes have been implemented in our Vidyalaya till the date.
1) INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES
Well ventilated Classrooms with sufficient furniture, tube lights, fans and other facilities are available. Walls are decorated with beautiful painting, depicting stories, rhymes etc. Display boards are also provided to exhibit the creative work of students.
2) RESOURCE ROOM
To maintain the spirit of CMP, the Primary section of the Vidyalaya is maintaining a very good Resource Room. Creative works/things of the children as well as the teachers and the teaching aids procured are exhibited in the resource room. Our resource room is very informative and the teachers make use of these things related to the topics to make the classroom teaching more interesting and effective. Resource room also equipped with LCD Projector, Two computers with Broadband Internet Connection including Printer, White Board, 29” TV, DVD Player, OHP, Magnetic Boards, Aquarium etc.
3) CUBS AND BUL-BUL ACTIVITIES
Enrolment of Cubs and Bul-buls with registration has been done for this academic session. Various activities are conducted on all Fridays.
4) CONTINUOUS AND COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION (CCE)
CCE has been implemented as per the KVS guidelines. CCE software provided by ZIET, Mysore Is already installed. FA-2 Assessment Record and proof of evaluation is being maintained by the Teachers. FA-1 is being conducted on every Monday in the month of July. In the class 1st and 2nd no formal evaluation is being done. Activity Sheets and Evaluation based Worksheets are being administered in classes I and II. In all other classes Worksheets related to lessons are being administered.
5) CLASSROOM LIBRARY
Classroom Library is functioning very effectively. The ratio of number of children to book is 1:3. Each classroom has a shelf with transparent acrylic doors to exhibit the books safely and attractively. Block period is allotted for the library activities. Every class in Primary also has an Hanging Library which can be utilized in the arrangement periods/leisure periods.
6) SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMME FOR IST STANDARD
School Readiness Programme for the Ist Standard was organized effectively as per the KVS guidelines. Various activities such as teaching Prayer, National Anthem, Songs, Assembly movements, Story telling, Film shows, Drawing activities etc. were conducted during the Readiness Programme. A meeting of the parents of the Ist Standard children was also convened.
Teachers are utilizing CAL/TAL facilities to make their respective topics/lessons effective and interesting.
8) COMPUTER LAB
A separate computer lab with sufficient number of computers are provided to the students of the primary section. Internet facilities are available in the lab. A Computer Instructor is being appointed to impart computer knowledge (Theory and Practical) to our students.
9) CCA ACTIVITIES
CCA Calendar for the academic year 2013-’14 is prepared and printed in the student’s diary. It helps the students to select the items and prepare in advance. Programmes are carried out as per the plans.
10) COMMUNITY LUNCH
As per the CMP-Guidelines Community Lunch Programme is arranged on classwise basis, to inculcate the principle of sharing and caring. Every class was given a Theme namely Energy Giving Food, Body Building Food, Protective Food etc. Students were asked to bring different food items containing such themes in advance. A speech on the theme was given by the Class Teacher and the Class Leader during the inaugural function of the Community lunch of each class. The students showed great enthusiasm and involvement in the Programme.
